Hello! My name is Chelsea Hughes and I grew up in Leedey (yes LEEDEY) and graduated high school in 2006. I attended college at SCCC in Liberal, Kansas. I played one semester of softball before deciding I was ready to be back home, so I transferred to SWOSU. I married Daniel Hughes in 2007 and went on to graduate from SWOSU with a Bachelors degree in 2010. I worked at Pioneer Elementary as an ELL tutor for a year before I was hired as an aid at Hammon school. I worked 1 year as an aid and then decided to stay home with my son, Hunter. When he was 7 months old I was hired to finish out the year as the temporary first grade teacher. The next year I was hired as the 4th grade teacher and I love it!! Hunter just turned six and my little girl, Haylee, just turned 3! This starts my sixth year as a classroom teacher at Hammon and I have a wonderful family and staff to support me.
I am looking forward to a great year with a great group of new kiddos!
